Man arrested after monkey dust found during Stafford stop and search

A man has been arrested after police found monkey dust and bolt cutters during a stop and search in Stafford.


Officers from Staffordshire Police’s county proactive and rural team were patrolling Stafford town centre and Victoria Park on Saturday 15 August when they stopped a 34-year-old man.


Police said the man, who is of no fixed address, was searched and officers seized bolt cutters and a quantity of monkey dust.

Released on conditional bail

The man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and possession of a Class B controlled drug.


He has since been released on conditional bail while police enquiries continue.
