Katharine House shop to reopen after refurbishment

What has changed?

The refurbishment includes updated décor, new flooring, improved displays and new signage.

Katharine House Hospice previously said the work was part of an investment in its shops to create a better shopping experience for customers, while also making it easier for staff and volunteers to process donations.

The charity also said the Princes Street shop would receive new signage inside and outside, updated visual merchandising and a fresh coat of paint.

A raised display area was also planned for the front window, giving the retail team more space to create the displays the shop is known for.

Official reopening event

The Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Mark Winnington, and the Mayoress are due to officially reopen the shop with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event will then welcome the first customers back into the refurbished store.

Katharine House Hospice has invited people to attend and support the reopening.

Supporting hospice care

Katharine House Hospice shops play an important role in raising money for local care services.

The hospice says every purchase and donation helps provide specialist care and support for people living with an incurable illness, as well as their loved ones.

Together, the charity’s shops raise more than £1 million every year to help fund its care.

During the Princes Street closure, the hospice asked people not to leave donations outside the shop. Instead, donations were being directed to the Katharine House Hospice Superstore on Astonfields Industrial Estate.

Earlier closure

The temporary closure was first announced in June, when Katharine House Hospice confirmed the Princes Street shop would close from 5 July for refurbishment work.

At the time, the charity said it would share reopening details once they were confirmed.
The shop is now expected to reopen on Friday 24 July at 11am.
