Students at Stafford College are celebrating after Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group reported a record-breaking year of A Level, T Level and vocational results.
Across the group, 1,435 A Level entries achieved an overall pass rate of 99.2%, with 62.5% securing grades between A* and B.
That was up from 58% in 2025, while 28.4% of entries achieved the highest A* to A grades, compared with 24% last year.
NSCG said students from its Class of 2026 are now progressing to universities, apprenticeships and employment across the country.
Strong results for Stafford vocational courses
Several subjects based at Stafford College recorded particularly high results.
Fashion had one of the strongest performances, with 94.7% of learners achieving Triple Distinction or above.
Music Technology followed at 91%, while 84% of Stafford Travel & Tourism students achieved the same level.
Other strong Stafford results included:
- Applied Science: 72.7%
- Media Production: 71.1%
- Games Design: 69.2%
A Triple Distinction qualification carries the equivalent weighting of three A grades at A Level.
Across NSCG as a whole, 1,203 vocational qualification entries achieved a 99% pass rate.
Of those, 58.6% secured Triple Distinction grades, up from 56.2% in 2025.
T Level results also improve
T Level students across the college group achieved a 99% pass rate.
Around 30% achieved Distinction grades or higher, while 83.7% secured Merit grades or above. That compares with 73% achieving Merit or higher in 2025.
Some of the strongest T Level results were recorded in Digital Production Design and Development, Education and Childcare, and Legal Services.
A number of A Level subjects also recorded 100% pass rates, including Business Studies, Computing, English Language, English Literature, Geography, History, Law, Physics and Politics.
Students heading to universities and apprenticeships
NSCG said students from this year’s cohort have secured places at universities including Oxford, Cambridge, King’s College London, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Liverpool, Durham and Edinburgh.
Others are moving into apprenticeships with employers including BAE Systems, Bentley Motors, Rolls-Royce and Capula.
Craig Hodgson, Principal and Chief Executive of NSCG, said: “Results day is always a moment of incredible pride and the Class of 2026 has set a phenomenal standard.”
He added that the results reflected the effort of students alongside the work of teaching and support staff across the group.
NSCG is now preparing to welcome its next intake of students in September.
