A Scout from Stafford has been selected to represent the UK at the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland.
Ella Chadwick will be part of an international team helping to deliver the event in Gdansk, where more than 50,000 Scouts from around the world are expected to take part.
The World Scout Jamboree is held every four years in a different country and brings together young people aged 14 to 17 for activities focused on friendship, culture, adventure and outdoor skills.
One of 600 UK volunteers
UK Scouts has selected 600 volunteers from across the country to help run the 2027 event.
As part of the international team, Ella could be involved in areas such as outdoor activities, cultural exchanges or large-scale events celebrating the different countries represented at the Jamboree.
The event will give volunteers the chance to work alongside Scouts from across the world while helping create the programme for those attending.
Ella said this will be her first World Scout Jamboree, although she has already experienced an international Scouting event after attending the World Scout Moot in Portugal last year.
She said: “It’s only when you get to an international event like the World Scout Jamboree that you realise how big it actually is.”
Ella added that she made strong friendships during the Moot and was looking forward to doing the same in Poland while helping create memorable experiences for young people.

Chief Scout congratulates volunteers
Chief Scout Dwayne Fields congratulated Ella and the other UK volunteers selected to take part.
He said opportunities such as the Jamboree were an important part of Scouting because they help bring people together, build confidence and encourage young people to step outside their comfort zones.
He added that the event would give those attending the chance to learn about different cultures and return home inspired to make a difference in their own communities.
The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland, in 2027.
